Niagara River Region Fishing Charters : Year-Round Opportunities for Anglers

 

  • The Niagara River region offers some of the most diverse and exciting fishing opportunities in the United States. With a unique 12-month fishery in a four-season climate, anglers can target a variety of species throughout the year, including salmon, steelhead, brown trout, lake trout, bass, walleye, and the elusive musky. Whether you're casting from the shore or out on a charter, you'll find abundant fish in these waters at every turn of the season.
  • Captain Joe Srouji, along with other experienced Niagara River captains, plays a key role in the stocking program on the Niagara River, working closely with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Fish and Wildlife to ensure sustainable populations of these iconic species. Their efforts help maintain a healthy fishery for both current and future anglers, preserving the Niagara region’s reputation as a world-class fishing destination.

Lake Trout Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) is a freshwater char living mainly in the lakes of northern North America. Here in the Niagara region, we have a multitude of ways to fish for them. During the fall and spring when these fish come into shallow water, we have success drifting live bait or lures or one of my personal favorite techniques, Vertical Jigging. During the summer they can be found out deeper in the lake as they are usually caught while fishing for salmon

Steelhead Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a trout and species of salmonid. Steelhead/rainbow trout were initially introduced into the Great Lakes in 1876 to a tributary to Lake Huron. From this, and subsequent introductions, steelhead quickly colonized throughout the Great Lakes. Late fall into spring is our time to target these fish. Steelhead are known for insane jumping ability and violent headshakes. 

Brown Trout Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The brown trout (Salmo trutta) is a European species of salmonid.  In 1884 they were introduced to the Pere Marquette River—a tributary to Lake Michigan. As brown trout were later introduced all over the Great Lakes and the rest of the Northeast. Best time to target these fish is late fall and again in the spring. These fish are known for beautiful spots and patterns. Pre spawn in the lake they are silver during fall spawn they turn to the browns and tan colors spots become more vibrant


Salmon Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) is the largest of Pacific Salmon as well as the largest in the genus Oncorhynchus. Its common name is derived from the Chinookan People. Other vernacular names for the species include king salmon. Salmon can be caught all year long but come into the Niagara River in September. So, if you're looking for a Rod in hand experience fall is your best time to target as they run up the river to spawn.

Walleye Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The walleye (Sander vitreus, synonym Stizostedion vitreum), also called the yellow pike or yellow pickerel, is a freshwater perciform fish native to most of Canada and to the Northern United States.  These fish can be found all year however certain seasonal restrictions apply depending on body of water. One of My favorite fish to target. evening into the night is one of our most popular charters. Vertical jigging or drifting with worms are great ways to attract these beautiful fish. 

Musky Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The muskellunge (Esox masquinongy), often shortened to muskie, musky or lunge, also nicknamed "The fish of 10,000 casts. I like to call them the freshwater barracuda. Violent strikes, death rolls, these fish are top dog in the Great Lakes with no predators to fear. Fall is the best time to target as water cools and fish go on the feed. Large tube jigs, top water lures or for the extreme hookup Flyfishing with large bucktails

Smallmouth Bass Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu) is a species off freshwater fish in the sunfish family (Centrarchidae). This fish is pound for pound the hardest fighting freshwater game fish. All muscle enormous swim strength, they will provide you with some of the best jumps and acrobatics in the freshwater fishing game. Fall is the best time to target as these fish bulk up for the winter. 6 to 7 lb fish in the fall.

Largemouth Bass Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

  The largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is a carnivorous freshwater gamefish in the (Centrarchidae). Bucket mouth, likely to be found in shallow warmer water can produce great topwater action for anglers. Other techniques would be finesse plastics or shallow water crankbaits and spinner baits

Channel Catfish Fishing Charter Niagara River Region

 The channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) is North America's most numerous catfish species. and is informally referred to as a "channel cat". Tear your arm off power with the size to back it up. this is bottom fishing all day long with live bait or artificial jigging spoons
